Yup.

On July 4th, anyone may saltwater fish in Mississippi without a license, though all the usual bag/equipment limits etc still apply.

And in this case, it is Saltwater, or more defined, waters South of i-10.

I wonder if any other states have similar "freebies"?

From Saturday, July 4th to Sunday, July 19th, Canadian residents of any age can also fish in Ontario without having to purchase a licence or carry an Outdoors Card.

Anglers must follow existing fishing rules and regulations, including conservation catch and possession limits.

There are many details but IIRC FL residents over 65 dont need many licenses for fishing and hunting. I also think saltwater fishing from land is free
